LAST DAY OF WINTER TODAY......

Just have to shout it out - TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF WINTER!!!! - Tomorrow it is officially Springtime.

Believe it or not - I am well into my 3rd story.  For some reason I cannot stop writing.  Call it an obsession, or whatever, but I simply have to continue with my little folke from the Woodlands.  I find it very hard sometimes to come back to reality!!!!  It is so easy to get lost in this world I have created.

Here is another photo of me in the Gallery, with a half-finished model of my "Ignatius" (without his head!!!).

Talk again soon....

CAROL AGAIN....

Guess What????? - I have started another story!!!! (my 3rd) - Still with the little folke from the Woodlands - this one is going to include some evil witches!!!

I have spent the last couple of days scribbling by hand a few ideas, which I will then take with me to the Gallery (where I seem to do my best works), and start typing into my trusty little 2nd-hand lap top (which I call "Lappie").

Rainer is already forming some ideas for the illustrations for that.  I have to remind him that we still have to work on the last 2 stories yet!!!!

This photo is of me in the Gallery with Lappie.  In the background is a fabulous painting by Michele-Lea of Angelina - isn't it great.

Till next time -

ANOTHER ONE DONE

Rainer has finished another painting for my book.  This one is called "Ignatius Ignites".  I will put it onto his page for sale ($150.00), but here is a photo of Rainer in his studio finishing it.

I hope I can get to keep this one a bit longer - I just love it.

Till next time -

CAROL

QUITE AMAZING.....

Talk about a blast from the past!!!!

We found a couple of Rainer's VERY early works on auction in N.Z.   He is not sure if he is flattered or upset, but I guess any publicity is good publicity .........

I will try to put a photo here to show you one of them (my favourite) - from 1980!!!!!!

I think he called it "Rain Forest".   This was done onto chunky blocks of cedar wood.

How cool is that???

More from Carol....

We had another good day today.  This morning we sold Ignatius........Not sure if I am happy or sad about that.  This painting was my favourite, and I am going to miss him, but I know he has gone to a good home.  I guess artists have to learn when to 'let go'.

The weather is warming up here on the Gold Coast, so hopefully I can get a few more 'shawl-selling' days before the heat hits.

Here is the Ignatius painting we sold today....... (Ignatius is my little Fire-Dragon, so named because he 'ignites' everything).

I am slowly putting together a list of clients to start a 'mailing-list',  so if you would like to be included, please do drop us a line.

Until next time......

cheers, CAROL xxx

CAROL AGAIN.....

Do let me show you my "Cave of Pods"......... this fabulous photo was taken by "The Drew".......... he was on his knees amongst unknown 'things' in our garden late at night, with a light-bulb we painted blue for effect.....

In my story, these 'troll-pods' are trying to open in the f'ull moon, but the woodland folke, with the help of the wilderness spiders, have entwined them, thus saving them from their evil...........

I HAVE FINISHED MY MANUSCRIPT.....

I have to tell you all......... I HAVE FINISHED MY MANUSCRIPT!!!!!!

Can't tell you the ending, but I am really happy with it.  The hardest part is not the writing of the story - No!!!!!!! ...................... the hardest part is trying to condense 27,000+  words into a 200-word synopsis for the Editor!!!!! - just try that for fun :(

Anyway, Rainer and I will work on the illustrations.........

Here is a sneak peak at my little Fire-Dragon......

I will keep you all posted.....

I HAD A GOOD DAY TODAY....

Today has been good - I sold a couple more of my hand-knits.....yay!!!

To the lovely ladies who bought from me - thank you so much :)

My writing is coming along - in fact, my 2nd story is all but finished now.  All I have to do is dot the i's and cross the t's, then give all the faeries a good night's sleep......

My favourite character in this series is a little fire-dragon that I have called Ignatius.  This little guy is a typical teenage boy (you can't tell me anything, I know it all!!!) - Rainer has painted him for me, but have a look at these great little sculptures he has made...... he still has to be finished, but I know he is going to be a winner.

 ......... talk again soon,

CAROL xxx

MORE FROM CAROL......

As we go along here, I shall attempt to add one or two pictures of my characters - nothing too revealing, mind you, I have to keep most of my work under wraps - however, I would like to show you the general flow of my work.

What we have here is the Cave of Pods.  This is an eeire place, patrolled by nasty Trolls, under the influence of their King.   The main character in this story is a fiesty little Woodland Faerie, shown in this photo discovering the Cave of Pods for the first time.

AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR WORKS

Hello to all our friends and valued clients.....

This page is the place to keep you informed of our progress.

As some of you will know, both Rainer and Carol are writers.

Carol's 2-part book is called "THE WOODLAND WARRIORS - Tales from the Forest Floor", with the 2nd part called "THE WOODLAND WARRIORS - Tales Upon an Ocean Shore".

This story is about Faeries, Sprites, Imps and evil Trolls, with the 2nd story being an epic journey for the Woodland folk in a little  boat, sailing down river and out to the Great Ocean where they encounter evil mermaids and other aquatic nasties.

Rainer's story (JOURNEY OF THE GHORKS) is a major undertaking, and has been many years in the making.   However, it is now nearing completion, so those of you who have purchased some of his artworks involved with this story will not be disappointed.
