another weekend done........

I've had so many requests lately for an image of my "Boat of Faieries" for my upcoming series of books (The Woodland Warriors), so I am bowing to the pressure from you all, so here 'tis............

The boat itself was made lovingly by Rainer out of Palm fronds and various other vegetation and 'found' objects.  It is over 2 metres long and 1 metre tall - so a bit too big to bring into our Gallery.

We took the boat of faeries down to the Broadwater a while ago for a trial launch, and photo shoot - and bugger me - it floated!!!!  It floated very well, in fact, so well that Rainer had to retrieve it - with a captive audience of Road-Workers on a lunch break.  A grown man playing with a boat of faeries - I wonder how many of them are still talking about this sight down at their local pub????

This photo was enhanced by my long-sufferring son (Andrew), with his photoshop skills (skills I am still trying to master), to add the ocean for effect.

I will see if I can add more of my illustrations here from time to time, so do keep checking.

Better go now, I still have a couple of 'things' to do tonight -

Do call out and see us soon -

The Owl and the PussyCat...........

As promised, here is my latest creation - another 'story-bag'.   I've called this one "THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT"........... see what you think?????

I've put more photos on my Art-to-Wear Page.............

The Owl & the PussyCat

By Edward Lear (1812 - 1888)

The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are, you are, you are,
What a beautiful Pussy you are."
Pussy said to the Owl "You elegant fowl,
How charmingly sweet you sing.
O let us be married, too long we have tarried;
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows,
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose, his nose, his nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling your ring?"
 Said the Piggy, "I will"
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the
Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon.
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand.
They danced by the light of the moon, the moon, the moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Another Good Day......

Far out!!!!  We've been having some great weekends in our little Art Emporium.  Today was no exception.   It may have been Voting Day today, but that didn't stop the people from ambling through the Village.

Last night (at 9.30pm!!!) I finished my latest coat.  I'm really happy with this one.  Had a few lovely comments on it already, so that really makes me happy.   I've called this one "Autumn".............. have a look at it......... It's a smaller fitting one this time - approx. 10/12-ish.

Better dash - the 'boy' is cleaning up the backyard and taking 'stuff' out onto the front lawn.  It's the Council clean-up day on Monday, so I had better supervise what is being chucked out..............

Catch you later ..........

Sunday done and dusted.........

Home again............. the weekend was a little slower than usual for us, but heaps of people about.   I finished my coat (Winter Wolfe), put it out for sale and sold it by the end of the day!!!  I'm thrilled about this, but now need to make another one......... So please bear with me as I cannot take any orders at the moment for special commissions.

I am hoping to finish a new coat this week, and hopefully a smaller bolero version as well.  If I'm really good, maybe I can make another one of my "Story Bags" to go with them.......... we'll see.  There are only so many hours in the day, and I seem to be using up most of them at the moment.

Better dash,

talk soon...........xxx

A Quiet Day

Well another Saturday under the belt............. rather quiet, but I put it down to the weather.  The wind was strong and had a real bite to it...........

Not too many about today because of this, but we are still cruising.

Today was the first trading day for our new neighbour - 'Garry Art'..............  I'd like to welcome this wonderful art gallery to our neighbourhood............ do call in to see him (and us!!!)

Rainer has finished another wonderful artwork.......... have a look .............. 'Adamus Schnuller, Chief Castle Merchant'.

I too have finished my coat - called it "Winter Wolfe".   I'm really happy with this one.  I'm hoping to make a cropped version of this for next week.......... watch this space????????

Better go, the chardonnay glasses have been 'clinked' in the kitchen - and you know what that means..........I'm there!!!!!!

It's Raining!!!!

Today it is wet - it is really, really wet!!!  I do so hope that it will fine up for the weekend.  Looking at the long-range forecast I think we will be lucky.

We have a new neighbour next to our Gallery.  A lovely artist called Garry.  Hopefully he will be trading by this weekend.  So, do call out and see us at the Marina Quays Village.  We are slowly working on developing an Artist's Colony out there.  With the sun shining on us next weekend, drop in and have a browse, have a coffee at one of the fabulous cafe's and enjoy!!!   Every Sunday there is a Baby Animals Farm too - this is great for the kids (and the grown up kids too.......... many a time I have caught Rainer inside the enclosure 'talking' to the piglets!!!)

Better dash, I am halfway through another knitted coat (an order which I am hoping to have finished for Saturday), and Rainer is working on yet another wonderful painting (also an order).

See you -

Another Saturday dun!!!

Well there goes another Saturday.................

It was quite quiet in the Village today - I guess we have the Ekka to thank for that.    Not to worry.  We had a few lovely people call in today, so to those lovely folke ......... hello xxx

I've added my latest 'art-to-wear' piece to our Gallery.  I finished this piece late last night, so do forgive the slightly 'fuzzy' photos.  I've called this one "Amethyst Tea-Rose" to match the scarf of the same name that I finished last week.

Do call in to see us if you are passing.............
