PHeww!!!

Well what can one say.......!!!!!  Another Saturday over, and boy were we busy.   To all you lovely people who called in today - hello, nice to see you xxx

Our sales are steadily increasing, but golly-gosh!!! - the weather is tooooooo humid at the moment - I thought this was winter!!!  For all that, I am still selling my knitwear.  But next week I am finally going to take my poor sick overlocker (sewing machine) in for repairs.  Once that is fixed and working again, I will start on my spring/summer collection of skirts and cropped jackets.  I can hardly wait to get started on this,  but I also still have heaps of ideas for jackets and scarves to knit - so many ideas........... so little time!!!

Rainer too is busy on THREE new artworks at the moment.  With a bit of luck he will have them ready for next weekend in our Gallery.  From what I have seen already they are just brilliant.

Better go now....... it is way past 'half-past-chardonnay' here.........

till next time,

cheers, take care, and be good...................

Worn out but Happy.......

Another Saturday over - and we are happy.  Had some wonderful people in the Gallery today, and had a few more art sales.  Rainer is buzzing...... He's just finished another artwork - Himmel Feuer (Heavenly Fire) - have a look.........

I'm flat out with my knitting.  Still working on a long coat (a commissioned piece), but at the same time I am working on a long scarf AND a little cropped bolero jacket........ with a bit of luck all will be finished by next weekend ..........

I've called it "Amethyst Tea-Rose".

I've now started another coat, so will not stay here too long - have to have it finished by the weekend!

Hope to see you there????????

Rainer's latest artwork

You have to have a look at this lovely piece........."Splendid Gifts for the Royal Dung Beetle".

This is another illustration for Rainer's Book (Journey of the Ghorks),  showing  ethereal flying elephants and Castle Merchants bringing splendid gifts for the newly crowned Royal Dung Beetle.  Many of you will know that in this story, The main character is Eberhardt, the Dung Beetle - a character based on Rainer himself!

This painting also has many pieces of vintage jewellery embedded into the canvas.

Size: 920 x 920 x 40 mm

Happy in our wee World

Our little Gallery is coming along so well now.  We are both very, very happy and excited to see such a warm response to our works.

Last night I finished one of my bigger shawls, and within half an hour of being in the Gallery I had sold it.  Fortunately Rainer was able to take a quick photo for me, so I can at least look at that.  It may sound silly, but each of my pieces are very close to me, like one of my 'babies', so it is hard to let some of them go.  But on the other hand, they have all gone to good homes.....

The last couple of weeks I have been struggling with the damn flu.  I thought I was over it.......... but nooooooooo,   bugger me, it comes back with great gusto.  But with the help of anti-biotics, I am now on the mend - just a bit snivelly and with a bad cough.  So to those of you who called in to see us today, I hope you didn't find me too 'distant'.......... I am not on the planet at the moment, but I've just been given a glass of chardonnay, so that should help?????????

Back to the knitting........

till next time - take care,

Cheers - Carol xxx

Still rocking on!

The last couple of weekends have been wonderful in our little Art Emporium.  Have met some absolutely gorgeous people.  It's so good to meet happy, smiley people.

Our sales are steadily increasing now, in fact I am finding it hard to keep up with my knitting, and Rainer is beginning to panic about not enough paintings to fill the Gallery.  This is good though!!!   We are HAPPY!!!

On another note - we have decided that we will now Self-Publish our books ourselves.  Been mucked about for too long with false promises from agents and other such beings.......... so in the next few months I will be pottering about on the 'pooter trying to fine-tune my two manuscripts and finding just the right illustrations from the many wonderful artworks and photography I have from both Rainer and my son Andrew.  If this goes well, then Rainer will do the same with his manuscript too.

Will keep you informed as we progress.

Will sign off now, and get the knitting needles cranked up for the night.

Till next time -  Have a great day

Cheers, Carol xxx
