THE ICE CLOCK

For those that have been watching Rainer's progress............ he's FINISHED THE CLOCK!!!

Here is a sneak peak - more photos will be on his page shortly......

........ this exquisite ANTIQUE clock was given to us by the delightful Darryl (xxx).........

When it arrived it did not want to tick or tock anymore.  It had quite simply decided to lie down and die........... buuuuuuuuut.............once this old warrior of a clock (we call her the "Contessa") felt loved and needed again, we quite simply could not stop her from ticking, tocking and chiming away every quarter hour....

So for the last few weekends out at our Village Gallery, Rainer has been 'playing' with her, and this grand old duchess (the Contessa) has now been transformed into the most exquisite piece of "Assemblage Art".......

let me introduce to you THE ICE CLOCK...........

............please note the gold hand-written Rune-script............. ("What is Time" is the translation.)

Please enjoy...........

Magick Bag of the Magi of Genghis Khan........

As promised - The story.......... (photo opposite)

More detailed photos on my Art-to-Wear Page...........

Magick Bag of the Magi to Genghis Khan

All around the snow is gently falling.  Ice has formed on the rocky outcrops – as far as the eye can see, and even beyond again.....

Trudging, slowly but surely, toward the summit, on the back of his trusty elephant friend, the elderly Magi is making his way back to his sanctuary.  Atop the highest pinnacle, stands his Shangri-La.  His sacred place of solitude.

Known only to the wisest and gentlest of beings on this earth, this Shangri-La has been the Magi’s place of “thinking and spell casting” for many, many years.

Once again, the Magi has made this pilgrimage, taking with him his special bag of Magick.  Within this solitude he finds the space inside his soul for quiet contemplation, and from this quiet he is able to conjure up some badly needed spells from his bag....

...................... Spell for the Healing of our Earth .............................

“All that hinders, all that hurts,

May the Forces of Good be with thee,

I banish all pain!

I banish all sorrow!

I cast aside all strife!

Let this Earth be full of Life!

Heal thyself – NOW!

ANOTHER HANDBAG FINISHED!!

No stopping me now............

Here's my latest bag - called it "ETERNAL SPIRIT OF THE CELTIC SOUL".......... it is a bag of magick!!!

The runes on the front have been lovingly handmade and hand-painted for me by Rainer.  They form a 'rune-script' of  POWER, STRENGTH AND KEEPING IN THE MAGICK!

More detailed photos on my ART TO WEAR page.........

Here is the story.........

Eternal Spirit of the Celtic Soul

It was, as all good tales will testify, a time of ‘Everlasting Time’.......

As the Celtic Warrior Priestess hid the girl child underneath her cloak, all around her the fires of the conquerors were burning.  Overthrown by the fierce barbarian tribes, a small band of Celtic earth-dweller’s had battled valiantly.....

However, the time had now come to admit their defeat to this harsh and barbaric group..........

But their young Queen, still but a babe, must be saved...

As the Warrior Priestess stealthily carried her precious bundle under her cloak, she gathered up a few items of magick that would help the young child-Queen on her journey.......

Into a bag she put these pieces of Magick -

And upon this bag she did cast a spell......

“Sigel – Tir - Ing”

Blessed Be.............

Sigel – A Rune of spiritual energy – one which guides all true seekers – a Rune of success.

To be used when strength and self-confidence are needed.

Tir – A great Rune of victory - & symbolizes kings and leaders.  A Rune of ‘might for right’ and is valuable in a rune-script when you have been unfairly denied something.

Ing – This Rune is often used in the final  position of the rune-script to indicate a successful outcome.  It is a very positive rune.

Can be used to release energy suddenly and to bring something to a satisfactory end.

Ing is used to ‘fix’ the outcome of your rune-script so that the benefits indicated therein do not drain away.

                                                                             ++++++++++++++

Please enjoy..............

GOT MY NEW SEWING MACHINE.........

Yay!!!  I've got my new sewing machine!!!  Nothing fancy - but I can sew again!!!   It has been really hard on me not being able to work on my bits and pieces.

Here is the first work of wonderment that I have produced with this new toy...........(pictured).

I have called this handbag "The Time Traveller's Bag of Wishes and Dreams".....

It is entirely hand sewn using some fabulous VINTAGE IRISH LINEN that I have had in my stash for a few years, and I have enhanced the wonderful design of the fabric with hand-stitched beads and jewellery.

The shoulder strap is from another vintage handbag, and I have added tassles of wool and other luscious fibres to enhance the overall effect.

There are more detailed photos on my ART-TO-WEAR page..........

Time-Travellers Bag Of Wishes & Dreams

How often have you sat and pondered upon something?.........

Something that was always just that little bit out of your reach - Something that was not quite within your grip, but Something that you really wanted – wanted so badly, but could not quite grasp?

The answer lies within yourself.

Let your mind wander – Let your soul be free!

Free to travel the ethereal highway of Hopes and Dreams.

Whatever you wish for you can manifest – you have only to believe in yourself.

Thinking is the best way to travel..........

Think - Dream - Believe............

ANOTHER WEEKEND...........

How hot is it????  Still mustn't complain.  The weekend is shaping up to a good one.

Quite a few people coming through the Gallery today, mostly in the morning before the heat of the mid-day sun sets in.  Had a few sales, so that keeps the wolfe from the door, so to speak - and keeps the Artist from starving - which is quite nice :)

My poor old sewing machine finally expired last week - so for now I am forced into hand-sewing my handbags and bits.  But I already have my eyes on a lovely new one - so my sewing days are still in my sights.

For those of you on the Gold Coast (Australia), please do call in and see us, any weekend, in the Gallery -

Shops 255-256, Marina Quays Markets, Hope Island.  (Bus Route No 10).

HOw HUmid is it??????????

Cyclone Yasi may have passed us by (thankfully!!!), but we are truly being blessed with the humidity that accompanies it.........It is so very, very hard to think - the brain has turned to mush, the body is completely sweated out - the shoes do not fit (throw away the shoes and wear the boxes!!!)......

The world is in crisis - Japan is having volcanoes, New Zealand is having earthquakes, Egypt is having political riots, Queensland has been blessed with inland tsunamis, floods and now cylcones - with more to come they say!!! What is going on?????  Maybe the Mayans were right.......... 2012????????

Okay, enough of the philosophy.......

I have finished another handbag!!! This was not without it's own dramas.   My sewing machine finally died on me, so I had to hand-sew the lining into this bag........ But I perservered, and here is the result (photo opposite).

Have called this one CELTIC OWL.
